Security of this site and Privacy Policy

Security

The University of Toronto makes every effort to ensure the security of student records, including those that are stored in electronic form on the institutional system, ROSI. A high level of privacy and security has been achieved through the installation of appropriate hardware and software and through the enforcement of policies on access and of procedures that support these.

Some examples of the security measures we have adopted are:

1. We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect data in transit.
2. A student must log on to the Student Web Service using their student ID and PIN. We continuously check on the activity of this logged-in session. If a session becomes inactive for more than five minutes, that session is logged off.
3. Once a student has logged in, the student number is not displayed on any other screen.

The Student Web Service complies with University of Toronto Policy on Access to Student Academic Records.
